The offense that Alabama runs is not really reliant on a top level QB to be successful, but Sims has done quite well throwing the rock this season.

Strengths:

Has great poise in so many critical situations this season.  Has lead the Alabama offense this year and has compiled 2988 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, 7 interceptions, while adding 302 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns.  Shows good touch on deep passes and has the arm strength to attack the perimeter and zip passes over the middle.

Weaknesses:

At the next level, Sims will be limited at the QB position due to his lack of size.  At only 6′ 0″ and 208 pounds, he may be forced to make a position change to have a chance of sticking in the league.  He could transition to running back, receiver or even an H-back type player.  He is a decent college quarterback, but doesn’t have the skill set that transitions successfully to the NFL.

Draft Prognosis:

Due to his limited skills and ceiling, Sims, at the moment, will be lucky to get drafted.  He is more of the Undrafted Free Agent type player due to his size.  He could get an invite to camp and be able to make a roster as something other than a QB.
